Versus: Urban Decay All Nighter vs Urban Decay Deslick

Hello!

I hope everyone has been having an awesome month. It's crazy to think that June is already half over. Whaaaa! Time flies. I've been lacking a bit of inspiration lately, so what better place to look than at the CBB's Brand of the Month. For the month of June, the brand is Urban Decay. I love the brand and think that it produces great products. I was trying to think of an original post idea and the inspiration for Versus came about. During my Versus series, I'll pit one product against another and see which one I like more. I've been thinking of doing this for dry shampoo and eye makeup remover! Hopefully in the future.

Anyways, I know when I first started to get into setting sprays, Urban Decay's All Nighter was definitely at the top of my list. Everyone raved about it non stop so I had to pick it up. When I was first looking at the display, I really wasn't sure about the difference between De-Slick and All Nighter. If I was wondering, maybe some of you are wondering too! So lets get down to the comparison...

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

As mentioned in the intro, this is the first setting spray I had tried. I didn't really know what to expect. Here is the description of the product from the Urban Decay website:

Is makeup meltdown ruining your midnight mojo? Mist on this weightless spray to give your makeup serious staying power. All Nighter keeps your makeup looking gorgeously just-applied for up to 16 hours – without melting, cracking, fading or settling into fine lines.
Using this, it definitely had a nice and lightweight feeling. I would say that this does help my makeup last longer than if I hadn't used it, but it's definitely not a holy grail product. If I were to not use it one day, it wouldn't be disastrous. I feel like I almost use this setting spray out of habit. It feels pretty nice on the skin so why not?

Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray

After trying out All Nighter for a bit, I decided to try De-Slick. I was hesitant to try this one just because I thought it might settle into fine lines, or cling to dry areas. Here is the description from the Urban Decay website:

Oily skin has met its match! Mist on this weightless spray to control oil, deflect surface shine and help makeup stay put. Meet your most powerful oil-control ally. De-Slick mists on weightlessly to control oil, deflect surface shine and keep skin looking beautifully matte. High-tech ingredients help keep foundation, shadow and blush from smudging, sliding or fading – so you hardly ever need to touch up.

The formula is definitely different than the All Nighter. I find it a bit stickier and tackier, which doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary, I like the feeling just because I feel like the spray is actually doing something instead of just making my face feel nice.

Verdict

I would 100% choose the De-Slick over All Nighter. Keep in mind that my skin is oily-combination. I have had a terrible time trying to control oil in my t-zone and De-Slick actually showed a noticeable difference. I never touch up throughout the day and my makeup isn't being eaten away by the oil. I definitely wouldn't say that my skin looks matte, but I'm not super duper oily like I usually am. The De-Slick doesn't settle into any lines and keeps my makeup looking fresh throughout the day. All Nighter feels nice on the skin, but after trying De-Slick, I won't be going back.

Urban Decay also has another setting spray, Chill, but I've never tried it so I cannot offer my opinion.

Have you tried any of the Urban Decay Setting Sprays? Another other setting spray I should check out for oily skin?

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!
